Baby F is 3 months old, I can’t believe it. I still look at him in wonder of every little grow he does every day. This time around I feel I’m savoring this season with so much love and amazement, at the same time feeling a bit nervous at the possibility of him being our last baby…? Ohh… I think I may want a 3rd? I’m not ready to let go of having a baby!!
So to celebrate this milestone of ending our 4th trimester, here is our favorites this season:
Boba babywrap
After watching Farmhouse on Boone‘s videos and Catarina Gouveia with her babies doing everything in a baby wrap, I knew I wanted to try it with baby F. I was lucky to have a friend to borrow me a Boba and may I say? It was a totally game changer. As soon as I put F in, he was down for a nap. It turned out to be a big change in our afternoons, which was the time when F struggled more to nap. After starting to use it after lunch, he was able to fall asleep on me and stay napping by my side while I seized some time at my desk. I also tried it outside and I’m going to continue incorporate it more and more on our day to day life.
Car mirror
This was another extra we decided to invest as soon as we knew we were going to have baby 2, and it’s so helpful! If you’re on the fence to get one, do it. Ours was not expensive and is totally adjustable making it easy to change it between our two very different cars. Especially in this season when babies are still on the baby car seat, I can take a quick glance from my passenger front seat and see if he is okay. Game changer.
Os bebés também querem dormir
This is a portuguese book I have mentioned in my Pregnancy TBR: Books I read for Baby 2 but at the time I was still reading it. If you are portuguese, this book is a must in understanding our baby, plus in breaking a tone of concepts that we struggle as parents like “should we let them cry until they sleep”, is a sleep routine good or bad? I still the Cherish the first six weeks sleep routine because it worked for my two babies, but it may not work for yours. This is the book you need to read so you can focus on your baby as he/she is: uniquely yours.
Being out!
Being outside. We had already made the enormous discovery that as parents of small kids, it’s easier to being outside than indoors, stuck in home trying to find ways to entertained them. But baby F? He is as his brother was as a baby: he thrives being out and about. He sleeps very well in movement in his stroller, if he starts to be fussy, he is happy to be on our arms, and now that he already is able to interact more: he is very interested in seeing everything. We went on a van trip and he was perfect. (actually more about this is coming in a next blogpost) We are for sure planning to have more outside days this summer! (with all the baby precautions, off course)
There you have it. Hope this blogpost was interesting. It was a day late but… summer. With the kids. When you know, you know. Hope you’re having an awesome summer too. See you next Monday for another brand new blogpost!
