I plan on reading 100 books this year. “What?” Yes, one hundred books. I have challenged me with this target for three years in a row now and for three years I have failed. I actually had read fewer books in 2019 than in the previous year. So, I should just give up, right?
F*ck no!
This year I will make it. And you know why? Because I have a plan. And it’s already working. You can check my progress on this page and by following me on Goodreads. Now, let’s see how I plan on reading 100 books in one year and how you can do it too:
- Sign up for the Goodreads 2020 Challenge
- Make a list of to-read books you already have started and really want to finish -> focus on these ones first – start by the one who excites you more or with fewer pages to finish
- Make a list of to-read books that really excites you, add them to the list
- Get into something you really like or want to know more about and add books that excites you about this to the list
- Read every day – I read in the morning at waking up, at the final of the day to relax after a
stressfulworkday and before bed - Check your status daily on the Goodreads Challenge -> stay focus on having 1 book ahead or on being on track
- Follow people that read a lot and inspire you to read that much – e.g. mine are simoneandherbooks + Ruby Granger
- Remember: every book count -> audiobooks, ebooks, children books, small books, huge books, the Bible, comic books, whatever you feel like reading
You can check my to-read list for this year (which continues growing, and that is the idea, you don’t need to have your to-read list for this year finished, we are only on the 17th day of the year, duh!) in here.
Attention: you don’t need to commit to reading 100 books this year too, you can use the above tips to increase your reading whatever the target is. You can sign up for the Goodreads Challenge with any number you’d like. Or don’t sign up at all. You can just read. 🙂
Add me on Goodreads and instagram and let’s motivate each other to read this year! Let’s do it!
