I have been struggling to find energy to sit at my desk lately (the third trimester is beating my *ss), so this week I bring you a blog post that I wrote at the start of the year and haven’t had the chance to share yet. I’m proud to say that I have not missed a weekly blog post since then and I’m very happy about it. I will be back next week to our regular schedule, this time with our first blogpost of spring.
I have so many things in my head that I want to write. I haven’t been in the right state for it for a long time. Time has been running and I can’t believe how much time has passed since I blogged until I saw the date of my last posts in December.
It’s unbelievable to me how I have been spending so much time without updating this blog or writing in general. I may have needed almost a full year of hiatus to breathe and find again the spark to write. I think I have won it, after 18 years of blogging.
Every time I see a regularly updated blog that is as old as I have been around in the blogosphere I feel jealous of how I’m not achieving that yet. I have updated constantly for months and then stopped for half a year. More than once. For a couple of years now, I have been more months away from my blogs than present in them.
I hope to change that this new year.
With that and a lot of improvements in my life this year, especially within myself, I started to get back into blog reading. I can’t tell you how much I miss it, to follow a blog and have fun seeing a new blog post coming up in my inbox.
Yes, because with 2023 times, unfortunately, there is no Bloglovin’ to follow our favorite blogs or RSS apps good enough for me to fall in love (Bloglovin seems to be live but last time I checked wasn’t looking good, does anyone use it now?).
I have been using something I never thought to use before, but now, with the way that I use this tool (thank you GTD method and digital minimalism vibes), I have been seizing a lot: e-mail.
It’s true. I may look old, but getting my favorite blogs’ updates via e-mail has been refreshing. I can read them when I have some time on my phone, at my desk, in bed… Wherever I feel like chilling for a few minutes.
Who knew I would be one to search crazily in a blog for the “Subscribe by e-mail” option, but I am. Meanwhile, if anyone would like to come back with an idea like Bloglovin’ again, I’m not entirely out of it, just ping me and I’m up to try it!
But while that doesn’t happen, bring the subscribe by e-mail forms back, because blog reading is on again!
Question of the week: would you like to see a list of my favorite blogs I’ve been reading lately?
